The Israeli Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Developme ‎ 03.12.2001

Attorney Tzvi Levinson lectured in a conference on “Irrigation With Reclaimed Wastewater And Use Of Organic Wastes” on “The Legal Linkage Between the Producer of the Wastewater and Their Agricultural Consumer”. A producer of wastewater is obliged by law to bring them to a certain quality. An agricultural consumer of reclaimed wastewater is obliged by law to make use of reclaimed wastewater of a certain quality only for the irrigation of certain crops. These two legal system are separate, and there is no coordination between them. In the legal linkage betweem the producer of the wastewater and their agricultural consumer arise questions of the price of the reclaimed wastewater to their consumer and of their quality. In his speech attorney Levinson l addressed the links that exist in these questions between the Water Law 1959, the Local Authorities Law (Sewerage) 1962 and the People’s Health Regulations (Setting Standards for Wastewater) 1992.
