Israel Trade Fairs & Convention Center, Tel Aviv 02.05.2001Israel Water Association in collaboration with the International Water Association (IWA) held an international conference that focused on issues of technologies for treating water and wastewater. During the conference attorney Tzvi Levinson spoke on the legal aspects of sewage sludge treatment. Disposal of sludge has aspects of licensing both in terms of wastewater treatment plant and of the sludge treatment plant. The issue has environmental aspects of water pollution, soil and air pollution. The process is governed by specific sludge regulations and general environmental laws.
